The older fics tend to have wangxian having more awareness of each other's feelings, and they are more likely to show traveling being healing for WWX. Also they more often directly reference the final scene in the show.
How interesting!!! Fanfic meta is fascinating, imo. Not just analyzing the fics themselves, but the environment in which they were produced, etc.
