Sometimes when I'm drifting off to sleep I think about fic I have no intention of ever writing. Mostly I forget about it by morning. (I used to do this even before I was into fanfic I just thought about it differently)

So last night I was thinking about an Untamed teahouse AU. Somewhere I saw people talking about how it would fun if coffee shop AUs but we kept the same setting rather than moving to a modern coffee shop. So all the sects run teahouses in ancient magical China.

But then I decided that they should serve magical tea. And that each sect should have its own specially. So here are all the tea specialties I came up with.

The Nightless City teahouse: tea that's very good at keeping you awake but controls your mind when you aren't paying attention

Meanwhile The Dafun Mountain Wens have a very run down teahouse but they serve the best healing teas

Cloud Recesses Teahouse: some very good calming tea and also tea that will help you study

The Yet Clean Teahouse: tea that helps you get stronger but makes you angrier

Lotus Pier teahouse: Impossible tea, which bosts your luck and your confidence and luck

Koi Tower: tea to help you get make money and/or tea to help you do well in social situations

The Burial Mounds would be an underground bar. And everyone would be horrified that WWX had given up the true path of tea to serve liquor instead

So what do you think? Do those kinds of teas make sense? What would you add?

I also think that a place that calls itself the Unclean Realm while having fine paper and textile works might appreciate Ya Shi Xiang Dan Cong
Ya Shi Xiang Dan Cong (aka Duck Shit Aroma) is a rare Dan Cong varietal grown in and around Ping Keng Tou village in the Phoenix Mountains outside of Chaozhou in Guangdong Province.

It's called "duck shit aroma" because in the Ping Keng Tou village area the soil has a somewhat yellow brown look to it and is unique to that area. With all teas the soil type is a key element in the tea's taste. Villagers wanting to guard the uniqueness of their tea bushes told outsiders that the color and uniqueness of the soil in their village was due to copious amounts of duck shit and began to call the their Dan Cong "duck shit aroma". True or not it's an entertaining story which reveals why the tea has such a gross name.
