Indian Ink
Feb. 2nd, 2015 07:47 amYesterday instead of watching sports on TV my mom got the two us tickets of see ACT's production of Indian Ink by Tom Stoppard. It was great. I don't think it succeeds as a play about colonialism, as there is bit too much white woman telling the brown man how to be "authentic." But as a play about art and love and also memory and history it is wonderful. I think having done some historical research myself made me really feel for the people who are trying to reconstruct the past. Indian Ink isn't as sharp as the other Stoppard plays I've seen, but it still has the playwrights wonderful dialog.
