A great thing about summer is having time to read. I also have access to my home town library which has lots more books than my college town library.

I've read a bunch of books that have been on my to-read list forever. There are still more books that have been on my to-read list forever that I haven't read. (Some books I want to buy and some the library doesn't have.)

I try not to get overwhelmed by how long my to-read list is but sometimes I can't seem to help it. I need to remember that having lots of books I want to read is good thing, and that not reading them all is not a mistake. Anyways I do get around to reading things on the list, just somethings are hard to find. Also about 100 books on the to read list are non-ficton, which I read very slowly.

I haven't been reading any non-fiction this summer, just novels, novels, novels. I feel like I'm trying to cram in all the reading I didn't get to do over the school year. Except I'll never be able to make up for it in just one summer. It's not like I didn't read any novels in term time, my novel reading just slowed way down. (A certain amount of novel reading is necessary for my mental health.) And I could be reading even more this summer if I spend less time online or playing computer games.

Right now I'm reading A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth, which is intimidatingly long. I got it form the library and then avoided starting it for a bit because it was so fat. I like the book, but I keep seeing how long it is and worrying it will take too long to finish. (I don't even know what too long is -- the library lets you renew things.)
