So my dad's 70th birthday party went well. I arrived a bit early to help set up. I spent an hour assembling the eclairs, and helping to keep my mother calm. (I had mixed success at the latter.)

Then I went up stairs and read until the guest started arriving. (My room was full of chocolate cakes as my mother is making a practice wedding cake for an even she is hosting on Friday and need to put the cake layers out of the way. )

The once the 1st guest arrived I circulated and said hello to lots of people. It was good to talk to my parents friends, many of whom I've know forever.

I found out that one of the guest had never read Make Way for Duckings, so I ran upstairs and got my copy form my room and handed it to him.

As the guest slowly trailed away I stayed and helped my mother put the food away. The eclairs where a major success, and very few where left over. However we had slightly more than a whole pineapple upside-down cake left though we gave some away, and ended up with only most of a cake.
