Write Every Day
Jun. 2nd, 2012 10:09 amSo one of the members of my thesis committee[1] advised me to write everyday. He suggested that I write about the non-fiction I'm reading but I've barley read any non-fiction since classes ended. [2] So I've been trying to at least write even it it isn't any thing that will end up in my thesis. Thus I've been good about recording my daily doings here for the last week or so.
[1]I'm still kinda excited that I have committee together and that it is made up of awesome people.
[2] I'm reading Rivers of Empire by Donald Worster very very slowly. Like a few pages a day slowly. It is about the history of water in the American West, and I really like how he focuses on people's idea about nature. I'm in the middle of the section about appropriative vs riparian rights and I really like how Worster pointed out that both sides had instrumental view of water, and where focused on capitalistic gains.
