25. Today I'm reccing this f/f retelling of the white snake featuring West Lake and lots of historical details!

26. Today's rec is Biluochun, one of my favorite teas. It has delicate slightly fruity taste. The leaves are very cute too, they are fuzzy and all curled up!

(also adding in a sneaky self rec to say that this was one of the first teas I tried when I got into Chinese style teas -- and it was research for this fic https://archiveofourown.org/works/24082099)

27. For #DecRecs today I want to rec the book I finished reading last night!
Shifting Stories: History, Gossip, and Lore in Narratives from Tang Dynasty China by Sarah M. Allen
This is a really cool look at the social context of Tang tales. Allen uses tales for which multiple versions survive to talk about how these stories circulated and changed
Allen discusses how writers and readers of Tang tales where super informal about authorship. Basically they treat a story as information not as Crafted work (aka authored text) so they were always reworking things and not necessarily attributing them
Which is super interesting and fun to compare and contrast with modern fanfic culture!

29. Today's #DecRecs is The Washi Station! They have so many cute/fun /beautiful tapes! And collections with fun themes! I also appreciate that they work to support independent marginalized artists!

30.Today for #DecRecs I'm reccing Twig and Tale sewing patterns! I make a lot of them for my kid -- some time I want to try making an adult pattern for me. Their stuff is super cute and also practical. Plus I like that they use gender neutral language in all of their sewing patterns!

How about A Half-Built Garden by Ruthanna Emrys? Near future first contact with people who are mending the world. There is also a lot of food. The main character is queer and married to another woman

It sounds great. The title's familiar from when the book got released, but I haven't read it.

Oooh, rec requests! How about some music that you love/want to share/wish more people knew about? (whichever version of that question interests you most.) (I have yet to meet a type of music I unilaterally dislike, and I think it's neat seeing what kind of music other people particularly enjoy!)

I'm very unmusical so the closet I've got is this youtube channel which features people in historical costumes playing classical Chinese instruments
