Jan. 1st, 2023 10:12 amHappy New Year everyone! I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by year in review/goals stuff. I'll try to at least post my December goals wrap up latter today or tomorrow. In the meantime here are the last of the recs form my #DecRecs rec a thing everyday in December project.
28) For #DecRecs today I'm reccing "The Past Didn't Go Anywhere" by FairestCat a short an gorgeous Wen Qing lives fic
https://archiveofourown.org/works/21921715 (gen, #TheUntamed 2k)
29) We are getting close to the end of #DecRecs for today I'm reccing "As You Like It" cosmicmilktea a sweet fic about Wei Wuxain trying to find out what kind of tea Lan Wangji likes. This such a nice story, and of course all the descriptions of tea and snacks are excellent!

30) Today in #DecRecs I'm reccing "The Book of the Queens of Old Earth in Exile" by raspberryhunter and f/f retelling of the Book of Esther in space! The worldbuilding in this is very cool!

31) For the last day of the project I decided to take requests, and oftered to rec something to the first three people (or more if I had time) who responded. I ended up recing 5 things:
31.1) for Stephanie Burgis
Across a Field of Starlight by Blue Delliquanti. I just read this YA SF graphic about two non-binary teens sprated by a war that's about kindness and art and I think you will love it.
31.2)for Satsuma
Our Dreams at Dusk: Shimanami Tasogare, Vol. 1 by Yuhki Kamatani, trans Jocelyne Allen, this four volume manga series about a queer teen in finding queer community restoring old houses. I loved the story and also loved at the details of the houses
31.3) Betty requested "a thing that made you expand your horizons, in whatever way you want to take that?"
So I'm reccing Tea in China: A Religious and Cultural History by James A. Benn not only was this the first academic monograph about chinese history that I read, starting me on my learning journey that I'm still engrossed in, but it also started me learning much more about tea!
31.4) for singlecrow
I'm reccing them Our Dining Table by Ori Mita a BL manga with lots and lots of food. The romance is very sweet and the food all looks amazing
31.5) for
soph_sol
I'm reccing "won't take the easy road" by twigofwillow a wangxain space AU. It's such a lovely story about finding your place and your people. Also the worldbuilding is great (Maureen did let me nitpick it, but it was great before too)

This was a fun project that helped me get through a time of year that I find stressful! It's nice to think about things I love and share them with other people. And it was great that many people also decided to take part and rec things in December. I think I'll do it again next December (I've put a reminder in my calendar)
