A Few Short Stories I Liked

I've been reading a some online short fiction recently, here's a few that I liked:

"Texts from the Ghost War" By Alex Yuschik

"Michigan Seems Like a Dream to Me Now" by Marissa Lingen (This one made me cry)

"The Dragon Project" by Naomi Kritzer

I discovered "Texts from the Ghost War" a couple of years ago as part of Hugo homework reading (I think it was included in semiprozine voter packet material for Escape Pod, or maybe the editors) and loved it so much! and was so impressed with how it managed to sketch in such a fascinating world and vivid characters with just some very in media res dialogue. I promptly made a bunch of other people read it, one of whom nominated it for Yuletide, and there ended up being several Yuletide stories for it that year :)

The other ones I haven't read, but they are from authors whom I usually like a lot in short form, so I'm going to need to check those out!

"Texts from the Ghost War" has been hanging around in my to read folder for a long time, but I finally got to it.

Thanks for the tip about the fic! I've added all the works in the fandom to my marked for latter. Also I noticed that the fandom is called "Ghostverse" and that lead me to go see if the author had written more in that world, and there's two more stories!

I knew about the second story in the universe (it was not yet out, IIRC, when the fandom was nominated for Yuletide, but had been announced, so my friend went with the "Ghostverse" tag rather than the single story title), but not about the third! The second one didn't grab me unfortunately, but I should check out the one that's new to me, because I really loved "Texts", so thanks for that tip!
