It's a new month so time for a new post about monthly goals. First lets look at my goals for last month:
1)finish the two long sleeve shirt that I cut out
Done. I only took apicture of one of these.
2)Quilt the quilt that I basted
Completed! Here’s a progress shot and a picture of it after quilting. Now I just need to do the binding.
3) Write two posts talking about what I've been observing in the built and natural environment around me
Done: “Watching the Moon” and “Seasonal Thoughts
4)Read Five Online SFF shorts (Stretch goal read some of a collection form my physical TBR)
I did this. I didn’t read a physical collection but I did read an ebook collection, so at least I have slightly fewer unread collections hanging around.
5)Voting research
Done, and voted! I think this was the best job I’ve done at hyperlocal elections like the school board in a while. I feel good about my choices.
6)Celebrate my kid's birthday!
I think this went well! I still can’t believe that she’s five already!
7)Halloween!
Our holiday was pretty good considering everything. My kid decided she wanted to be a robot and I bought her a consume. It would have been nice to make something, but she waited till two weeks out and also robots are tricky.
We trick-or-treated at my mom's and her teacher’s house. And we walked around the block picking up candy that had been left out in front of people’s house. There was one house that had a cardboard tube attached to the window in their door, and a went we rang the bell the dropped candy through it. We ended up with quite a lot of candy.
8)Finish one long blog post
I actually finished two Untamed Starter Pack Expansion Kit and another than has not been posted yet. (We decided to wait until after the election)
Well completed all my goals! I’m always little surprised when I do, even though I do most months. (Or I worry that I need more goals). Anyways I expect November to be a tough month what with the election and things getting dark and cold, so I’m setting fewer goals for myself.
1) Write two posts talking about what I've been observing in the built and natural environment around me
I still like this project and want to keep it up.
2)Read Five Online SFF shorts (Stretch goal read some of a collection form my physical TBR)
Another goal that I’ve been repeating month to month. This helps me not get quite so behind on the wonderful short SFF that keeps getting published.
<3) Write 10k words of or finish a draft of “Gone to the Other End of the Sky” the Untamed Space AU fic I’ve been writing
So I’m not officially doing NaNo but I find that other people doing it makes me want to write more. So I’ve set myself writing goal that feels like a stretch but doable for me. As of this morning I have 4521 words of this, so my goal is to have 14,500 or more words by the end of the month.
4)Finish the quilt I quilted last month
It just needs binding. I’ve gotten as far as making the binding so this should be quick to finish.
5) Thanksgiving
I’m the host for my families Thanksgivings. I am super bummed about having yet another holiday in lock down. But I’m going to figure something out.
6)Finish one of the two quilt tops that I have stared
I have one quilt top that I have all the blocks made and another that I’ve made about half the blocks. I’d like to finish one of these
Ok, well that’s not actually that many fewer goals than normal. It’s fewer than last month though.
How are your Novembers shaping up?
