Dear Board,
I admire the way that the AO3 has built a community for fans. And in many ways that community has been welcoming and inclusive, but we have failed to address racism in our community. Fans of color have been speaking up for a long time. We need to listen to them. It's inadequate to link to work by folks like Dr Rukmini Pande and Stitch without discussing how OTW plans to deal with the racism that's coming from inside the house. I would like the see the organization make a statement about this listing concrete steps that the OTW will take to address racism. At the very least the board should establish a standing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee to study what steps are possible.
