It feels strange to be doing my normal monthly admin blogging in times like these. This planning and accountability stuff really helps me though so since its the first day of a new month here's how I did on my goals for last month.

1) Write three themed rec lists (four for a stretch)
Done!Awesome Built Environments, Food, and there's third list which more Untamed fic which I've written but not posted. Not sure when it will get posted since the worlds a mess right now.

2)Write two posts talking about what I've been observing in the built and natural enviroment around me
One and two

3)Finish the dress for the kid
As mentioned in the mid-month update this was actually really fast to sew.

4)Sew backs for the two quilt tops I finished in April
Done.

5)Quilt the wedding present quilt
Done. I'm having hard time getting a picture that really shows what this looks like.

6)Attend virtual WisConWisCONline!
Done, here is my con report.

7)Read Five Online SFF shorts(stretch goal read ten)
I read seven in the end, two of which where not flash.

I did great at my May goals. Taking a moment to pat myself on the back here.

For June I have lot of sewing goals, and few other things.

1)Sew a shirt for my friend's toddler godson
I have this cut out an stared so it should be quick to finish.

2)Bind and finish the Wedding present quilt
I ordered fabric for this! So it should be pretty straightforward to do.

3)Finish the rainbow baby quilt
There's three big steeps I need to do for this. Basting (glue the layers together), Quilting (sew the layers together) and binding (finish the edges by sewing fabric over them). I have all the materials though.

3.5) Stretch Goal: One or two baby gifts
One of R's good friends just had a baby, and my friend's toddler godson has a new sibling on the way. I'd like to make things for one or both of them. I actually have a baby sized shirt cut out so I should be able to use that for one of these kids.

4)Write two posts talking about what I've been observing in the built and natural enviroment around me
This was fun last month so I'm going to do this again!

5)write something long form
I want to write a critical essay or some fic or something, but I'm not sure what. So just leaving some space here for that to happen.

6)Activism
I'm thinking about what I can do about racism and totalitarianism right now given that we are still under shelter in place. I have been reading a lot about these issues, but I want to do more. I'd prefer a more concrete goal but I haven't quite figured that out. So have this place holder goal for now.

7)Read Five Online SFF shorts(stretch goal read ten)
This has been a pretty good goal for me for a while so I'm just keeping it.

That's it for now. I may modify some goals or add some more when I do my mid-month check in. I hope you are all safe.

Really interesting choices for rec lists. I think a lot about food in fiction, and how it helps gives a grounding to the story, and connects the physical environment to the social one.
