Well time seems to keep on happening whether I like it or not. It's now March so its time to see how I did at my goals for February
1) Post some Hugo recs
Done. You can see all the recs I've posted so far at my Hugo Awards tag
2) Read or DNF all the 2019 short SFF I have bookmarked
Also done! I was nice to myself and DNFed a bunch of stories that were not working for me, even if they might have worked for some slightly different version of me like past me, or more awake me.
3) Write at least one sentence about nature or the built enviroment everyday
I did this. I'm not sure is this project helped with my long term goal of posting more about these topics, but I think it was worth trying. I might post my daily writing here not sure as its kind of a mess.
4) Finish the shirt I'm sewing and cut out another one
Done! Picture of the finish shirt via Instagram Note the cute buttons!
5)Finish School Enrollment Paperwork
I'm so glad this is done, so glad.
6) Enjoy the long weekend where R will be at a con and my cousin and her family will be in town visiting
I think I did ok at this! It was good to see my cousin and her family and I ate a lot of really good food with them. Sadly I was pretty wiped out by this visit.
7) Book flights to WisCon!
Also done! I even got a non-stop flight! And I have con roommate arranged! I'm so excited for WisCon already! (If you are going to be there let me know!)
Ok, wow I completed all my goals for the month! Well done me! I honestly wasn't sure at the beginning of the month if I was going to do everything. Here are my goals for March
1) Finish posting Hugo Rec (by close of nominations March 13)
I still have a few more categories that I'd like to cover
2)Finish a draft of the current fic I'm writing
I feel oddly reluctant to make this an official goal, but also I think I'll make more progress on this if I give myself permission of actually focus on it.
3) read five online SFF shorts
Now that I've finished reading 2019 SFF shorts I'm going back to this goal which has been very manageable for me in the past.
4) Finish the shirt that I cut out last month
Kids keep growing so to get the most wear out of projects I need to sew fast.
5) Finish the quilt top for my friends' wedding present
Some of you will remember this form earlier monthly goals. Anyways the quilt is in three sections two are complete and the third is more than half done, so hopefully it will be simple to finish.
6) FOGcon!
FOGcon is a little local SFF con that's modeled off Wiscon. I've been going ever year for a while now and I'm excited to go back! It's less than a week away! I'm going to be on a panel with my friend KJ for the first time ever, which should be really fun. (If you are going you should definitely let me know!)
That's all for now. I think I could manged to do another goal or two but I can't think of anything right now. Maybe I will add another in the mid-month check in. I would like to keep working on the nature and built enviroment stuff but I'm not sure what I want to do for the next project. I may just need some more time to think about last months project.
