Fannish Wish List
Jan. 12th, 2020 10:27 amI'm seeing a lot of wish lists on my reading page as part of the snowflake challenge and they seem like fun. So here's mine:
*Icons! I've been working on building my collection but I want more, here's a few things I'm looking for.
-An icon that says "Why can't I make you a cup of tea over the internet?"
-An Untamed icon that says "swoosh" or "swooshy"
- Something with trees
- A Star Trek icon -- know there are a bunch of these floating around but I need to get a better sense of what I want and go looking
- A writing icon of some kind. Maybe a fannish one with character writing? or maybe I just want something that says "words, words, words"?
*Meta about food, ecology or urban planning!
*Recs for good books and articles about Chinese history. My recent enjoyment of Chinese media has made me realize how little I know. I'd be especially into things that talked about what daily life was like in the past.
*Recs for cosy SFF of any length

Date: 2020-01-13 01:12 am (UTC)what kind of meta are you looking for exactly?

Date: 2020-01-13 06:09 pm (UTC)For meta I guess anything that looks at how those things are used in story telling. Or deep dives into them in specif media. For example there was an article going around a while back about there not being alley's in lower Manhattan but we think there are because they show up in movies and TV a lot. Or I was talking with my spouse about how the food in Star Trek always seems kinda boring and american even a lot of the alien food and it would be fun to read a longer discussion of that.

Date: 2020-01-14 04:02 pm (UTC)I'm not helpful with the making of icons but I wanted to say that that's a great idea!
