Gosh, December seems to be going by really fast, it is the 15th already! So since we are halfway through the month its time for a goals update. So here are my goals for the month and how I'm doing at them.
1)Suggest some panels for conventions
The last day to suggest panels for FOGcon was last Friday and I suggested two panels. Still working on some ideas for Wiscon
2) Post the fic I wrote in November
Posted!
3)Bind the lap quilt I made for myself
A got the binding made and half sewn on and then I ran out of thread. So I need to go to the fabric store and get some more. But this very close to done. I can't wait to have my quilt ready to use!
4)Stretch Goal -- finish the quilt top that I'm making for my friend
I've done some work on this! The night sky bit is fun.
5)Read 5 online shorts and start another anthology or collection
Good progress on this. I've read four online shorts and one in the New Suns anthology
6)Survive Christmas
We have Christmas tree in our house now. At least it has hippo lights on it. Yesterday E* had a holiday party and lots of neighbors came. I still don't really know them, but E was clearly happy to see them. We have plans for Christmas dinner, and time to go open presents with my mom and my sister's family.
(*E is is my mother-in-law, we live with her because housing in the Bay Area is expensive. She is lovely.)
7)Do Hanukah
Our menorah is out! I have plans to eat latkes with my parents and to make them at home to feed to guests.
I'm struggling a bit with the cold and dark but mostly managing ok. How is December treating you?

Date: 2019-12-15 09:18 pm (UTC)I am so keen for Solstice. It's dark now, so dark, and no snow. Once I know light's coming back that will feel easier to take. And then hopefully snow, maybe? At least I tell myself the perpetual rain is "good writing weather". That helps make it feel less dire.
