November Goal Update

forestofgloryI started the month wanting to take a break, and I'm not sure I've succeeded at that, because what I realized is that I really want a break form my domestic responsibility so go do creative things and consume more media. Oh, well. However the power has stayed on, no one in my household has had anything worse than a cold, and my brother came over a helped with childcare a bunch recently so I have in fact gotten stuff done. Feels great!
1)Finish the personal essay for Short & Sweet
Submitted! I asked two friend to edit/beta this for me, even though I hadn't asked either of them for that type of help before. They both left me really great comments and now I'm pretty happy with the finished piece. I'll post here when it goes up.
2)Finish the post about Hugos Fandom feels I have done nothing towards this goal and I feel fine about that. It should hopefully be pretty quick to finish up when I do get around to it.
3)Write something fun! I have been very successful at this goal. I have been writing a fic, because I guess my brain does that now. This is only the third fic I've written. I currently have about 6000 words. I have been filling it full of things that I enjoy even if they aren't mainstream fandom interests, like saving female characters, mentiorship, cheerfully inventing stuff, and tea. So it has in fact been very fun to write.
4)Sewing -- no official goals I just put this here because I wanted an excuse/reminder to share some pictures of my sewing with you folks. So: 1 2 3. These are all pictures of the quilt that I'm making for friends who are getting married next year.
5)Read 5 online shorts and start another anthology or collection I have read one only short, (and also DNFed one) and vaguely poked at an anthology -- so could be a bit better but still time to turn this around.
6)Host Thanksgiving dinner Very little towards this goal as Thanksgiving is still two weeks away. I have discussed the menu and logistics with various family members though.
All and all I got lots done -- and also did a cull of my books!
