Goal Update
Sep. 15th, 2019 01:19 pmIt's the middle of September so it seems like a good time to check in on my goals for the month
1) Read five pieces of short SFF online and finish reading Hexarchate Stories.
I have read 3 online shorts and read Hexarchate Stories up until the final novella
2)Research starting a cosy SFF zine.
I have started a google doc, with ideas about how I'd want such zine to go. (Original fiction of course! A letters column! Maybe some non-fic but what would be "cosy"?) As well as links to articles that look useful. This needs to get a lot more organized, and I'm struggling a bit with how to do that.
3)Brain storm 5 nature/built enviroment topics that I could write about.
"Actionable" brainstorm ideas are turning out to be hard to define, but I have piece of paper and have been writing down lots of ideas. Maybe next month I will try to write one.
4)Host a Dire Panda themed Guardian event.
Done! People have posted a bunch of lovey prompts and one fic so far, and I know a couple of other people are working on things. I'm happy that over people seem to be enjoying the idea of dire pandas too. (I'm thinking about writing something myself, but *meep*)
5)Sew a shirt for the kid, and pick a pattern to use for the fabric she wants me to make a dress out of.
I've cut out the shirt, and going to get started sewing it soon.
So I guess I'm doing ok at my goals for the month. I kind of wish I hadn't set myself two hard to decide when they are finished goals though. Research a zine and brainstorm ideas are just bit hard to define.
