forestofglory"Let a Thousand Mulans Bloom by Jeannette Ng is an intersting look at Disney's new Mulan adaption and the cultural meanings of Mulan. Also worth reading "Warrior and Weaver: The Many Legends of Mulan" by the same author which reviews a bunch of different Mulan adaptations. I really want to see the 2013 drama where they spend half the time weaving a banner. I love stuff that focuses on domestic labor like that. Sadly my preliminary search didn't come up with a version with English subtitles.
