"Pan-Humanism: Hope and Pragmatics" by Jess Barber and Sara Saab (12087 words). This story is just so beautiful. It's a domestic science fiction about people who live in a world where climate change has made things very unpleasant. But its not dystopian because people still care about each other. I loved these characters so much, how they cared about each other and how they worked hard to improve their world.

"How to Survive an Epic Journey" by Tansy Rayner Roberts A retelling of the Golden Fleece myth from Atalanta's view point. I love how this reenters women's stories.

I think my readers will also enjoy "A cluster of kind stories" by Rose Lemberg. Rose recommends four kind stories then asks the author of each to also recommend a kind story.

I'm getting close to finishing up my 2017 short fiction reading and will be starting to write a post about my favorites of the year in a bit. What should I be sure not to miss?
