May Goal Wrap Up and June Goals
Jun. 1st, 2021 11:10 amIt's a new month. Time for some new goals! But first a look back at how I did on last months goals:
1) Finish the space cat quilt top

2)Rainbow Quilt Top
Done!Pictures on Twitter or Instagram
2.5)Stretch Goal: Sew at least one block of the space bee quilt
Once I actually read the pattern for this I realized that it would be easier to make the quilt assembly line style instead of a block at a time. So I have made progress but instead of whole block I have lots of pieces of blocks. Going to count it as a success though.
3) Write on Short and Sweet column
Done and posted! You can read it here!
4) Finish Essay about Agrarianism
I made some progress with this but then got distracted by other projects. I plan to come back to this at some point
5) Write two posts talking about what I've been observing in the built and natural environment around me
Done! Nothing very polished this month, oh well.
Cities and Nature TBR Update
Changes
6) Read FiveOnline SFF shorts
Done! Since I let myself count stories in anthologies I finally finished the anthology I had been working on for months!
7)Various Medical Stuff
I am now fully vaccinated! And the kid has seen the dentist, it was fun outing for her. However I had to reschedule my pap smear because my doctor was sick.
So I did ok despite feeling overwhelmed in the middle of the month. I had an easier time focusing on writing in the second half of the month. Here are my goals for June.
1) Finish space bee quilt top
As mentioned I've started working on this already. It's a bit more fiddly than some of my other projects but I have high hopes that it will turn out well.
2) Write two posts talking about what I've been observing in the built and natural environment around me
3) Read Five SFF shorts
Continuing to be format neutral here.
4) Family Trip to Santa Cruz
We are going on an actual trip! For the first time in really long time!
5)Various Medical Stuff
I have my rescheduled pap smear and an eye check up scheduled. After the eye check up I'm going to order some new glasses.
This fewer goals than normal. You also might have noticed that I only have one writing related goal. I do have the fic that I recently started and I am excited about writing. I hope to make progress on that but I don't think setting a goal for it would be helpful. This is the last month was a bit hectic and I want to have less on my plate. Also this is the last week of school before summer break and I want to make sure to spend time with my kid over the break. Plus transitions tend to take a lot of mental energy for me.
Do you have any exciting plans or goals for June?
