Capricious: The Gender Diverse Pronouns Issue I really enjoyed this special issue of Capricious. I hadn't heard of this zine before but this issue was great it was fun to see a lot of different takes on gender diverse pronouns form society with many many pronouns and that normal to characters in our times trying out new identities. I liked that many of these stories where small scale and domestic -- one of my favorite types of fiction. Also the author interviews here are fun and insightful I need to look up some of the suggested reading. And Capricious has the most adorable hedgehog page break symbols. I hadn't heard of Capricious before this special issue but I'm going to keep an eye on it form now on.

Since I last wrote a short fiction rec post Marissa Lingen has published two new stories. They are both great of course. The first one is "Lines of Growth, Lines of Passage about a sorcerer who finds that someone has encased her in a cherry tree. I loved the description of being inside a tree and how the tree helps the sorcerer learn new things. The second story is "Flow". This one made me cry buckets but I still loved it. Its about disability and loss, but my favorite bit is how it addresses troupes about caring for each other and care taking.

I also wanted to mention "Four-Point Affective Calibration" by Bogi Takács I don't always like stories told in non-traditional fro mats, but I like this one which is the screening transcripts of person who wants to take part in project to talk to aliens.

Have you read any short fiction you enjoyed recently?
