It is very rainy here today. I woke up in the middle of the night when something went crash! A big redwood branch had fallen in the back yard. It smashed half of the little magnolia tree, but otherwise there does not seem to be much damage.

I went out to diner at super fancy restaurant with my parents and my sister last night to celebrate finishing my thesis. It was yummy and pretty and fun.

I'm going to officially graduate on Dec 20, but I'm not going to go the ceremony because it is far way somewhere cold. There will be a small family party on the 19th though.

I started drafting my short fiction recs for 2014 and realized I have read barely any novellas this year. Do any of you have recommendations? (I have read "Boar & Apples" by T. Kingfisher aka Ursula Vernon, Scale-Bright by Benjanun Sriduangkaew, and Courting Magic by Stephanie Burgis. Also I have a e-copy of The Awakened Kingdom by N.K. Jemisin but I haven't read it yet.)
