I'm presenting a poster at a conference next week. It has been a lot of work. I don't have any real poster making software so I'm using powerpoint. I struggled a lot to make the timeline part of the poster, but after trying some things that didn't work found an Excel template that worked fairly well. Right now I am trying to expand my "Implications" section. Writing conclusions is always really hard. Then this afternoon I plan to print out a test venison in black and white. I just want to be done with it so I can do back to writing my thesis. I took a few days off to focus on this poster, and now I don't think I shall hit my goal of having a draft done by the end of the month.

In other news I submitted a paper to a conference in the spring that got excepted. I'm quite pleased. (Though going to the conference might be quite awkward as I hope of have graduated by then, and everyone else their is an academic.)

Actually pretty much the only one I use is Scribus, which is free, but I also hear really good things about Scrivener, which is not, but has an awesome 30-day trial thing (i.e. it is ACTUALLY 30 days of use), plus lots of generally being-really-awesome in support docs etc.
