bits and bobs
Jul. 17th, 2012 09:35 amWe have got a water filter for the downstairs sink. Before the filter the water down here tasted awful which lead me to not drink as much of it as I should. Now it tastes fine. I tend to keep a glass of water by my desk and drink sips as needed, but when the water tasted bad I was drinking fewer sips. Keeping water near the computer can be dangerous, I ruined the keyboard of my old laptop by spilling water all over it an not waiting for the computer to dry out. It was my only computer at the time and I didn't wait long enough. I think there is less danger in my current set up, because I'm working at a desk top so the main computer is father away form the laptop. My keyboard might still get wet, but it's much easier to replace.
I'm about 100 pages form the end of A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth which I've been reading for about 2 weeks. (It's long book) I'm kinda excited to be reading something else. Still I like the book. Structurally it reminds me of Middlemarch, because it is long and sprawling with lots of character who are connected to each other in complex ways. I have not been reading it especially quickly. Things most move slowly enough that I don't have to find out what happens next.
Yesterday I failed to leave the house. I meant to go take a walk at lest but didn't seem to quite get around to it. This is not good.
Does anyone know of good place to get a pre-packed gluten free lunch in the East Bay? I have wedding guest who is very sensitive to gluten and I need to figure out a way to feed her. (It's very important to me that everyone get enough to eat.)
