Sewing Update
Oct. 2nd, 2024 05:19 pmI recently finished a quilt top that I'm really happy with! Pictures on Fedi and Instagram (There are different pictures there -- but also I know instagram can be difficult about showing things to people without accounts)
The quilt is made of triangle blocks know as flying geese. I made all these geese using the no waste flying geese method. So if you look around you can find four of most geese. (There are a few geese that I didn't end up using)
This mention requires a lot of precision and I'm not that precise a sewist -- so some of my geese came out a little small (especially the smallest ones) This was ok because my plan was "make a lot of geese and sew them together improv style" but if I'd really needed them to be exact could have been a problem.
Doing an improv style layout was super fun! I like the sense of flow it gives the whole thing.
I did not buy any fabric specifically for this -- in fact most of the prints where from my scrap drawer (where I throw random small pieces) some of the blues where leftover form other projects and one was remnant I bought with no particular plan in mind
