Book Sale!
Apr. 5th, 2021 11:10 amA few weeks ago The Association for Asian Studies had a virtual conference. I follow a bunch of academic historians of China there*, so I got to read a little bit about it. As part of the the conference the University of Washington Press is having a 40% with free shipping in the US on Asian Studies books. It's good til June 30 if any of you want to check it out.
I ended up buying four books:
The Social Life of Inkstones: Artisans and Scholars in Early Qing China by Dorothy Ko
Empire of Style: Silk and Fashion in Tang China by Buyun Chen
Jade Mountains and Cinnabar Pools: The History of Travel Literature in Imperial China by James M Hargett
Letters and Epistolary Culture in Early Medieval China by Antje Richter
They arrived recently, and are now sitting on my TBR shelf! I'm excited to get to read these soon!
*Some of them even followed me back? Which is weird, but hey if they want to see my fandom musing and what I eat for breakfast, I guess they get to curate their own experience.
