Book Chatter: 2014 in Review

forestofgloryI read a ton in 2014. Goodreads tells me that I read 201 books! Goodreads is mostly accurate, but does include some books which I skimmed and doesn't include some re-reads.
37 books were non-fiction. 25 were comics or graphic novels. 13 books were anthologies or collections of short stories. About 30 of those were by men, and the rest were by multiple authors, or women. (Don't think I read any books by non-binary people.)46 Books were by people of color. (23% percent) Last year that was 17% so I succeed in my goal of increasing the percentage. I would like to incress it even more this year.
Oldest book: The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery (1926)
Newest book: Stranger by Rachel Manija Brown and Sherwood Smith (Nov 2014)
In 2014 I read 35 books published in 2014! That's way more than the 19 books published in 2013 that I read in 2013. I'm not really sure why I read so many new books.
I also read a lot of online short fiction. I keep tract of online short fiction based on when it was published not when I read it, but there are currently 85 works in my 2014 folder.

Mending the Moon by Susan Palwick
The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison
2014 was year when I used the library a lot. My local library was amazing getting me tons of wonderful things, and when they didn't inter-library loan was great.
