New Year

Last night I went to Rosh Hashanah services at a humanistic Jewish community. I've been to a couple of their Friday night services before. The congregation is mostly older people, but they seem happy to have me around. It is nice to have other people to be a secular Jew with. Judaism is hard to do alone, especially the High Holidays. I really liked the service. Afterwards there were apples and honey and some homemade apple cake. And went I went to walk back to my car it was raining lightly, a real blessing here in the California drought.
